Bill Flanagan is Co-Founder and Director of Aspire Sustainability, a consultancy focused on product life cycle assessment (LCA) and sustainability strategies. He is also Chair, Board of Directors, of the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA), the professional membership and advocacy organization for LCA in North America.

From 2007-2017 Bill was Director of GE’s Eco-assessment Center of Excellence and was responsible for developing GE’s product sustainability strategies. He has extensive leadership and teaming experience and has conducted LCA studies in a wide range of product categories including renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro), aircraft engines, biofuels, LED lighting, consumer appliances, batteries, locomotives, advanced materials, additive manufacturing, CNG and LNG technologies, biopharmaceutical processing, gas and steam turbines and generators, anesthesia gases and equipment, remanufacturing, medical equipment (CT, MR, digital x-ray, ultrasound), subsea oil and gas technologies, and packaging materials.

In 2014 Bill was awarded the Lifetime Individual LCA Leadership Award by the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA). Bill graduated from Virginia Tech and received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut. He is a certified life cycle assessment professional (LCA CP).
